95 points + gold: award winning wines without the fuss

the mclaren vale wine show is THE social event of the year in our little region, with all the local players entering their wines with the hopes of snagging a good score and bragging rights at the end (obviously). whilst this venture was never about scores, we thought we’d shoot our shot and entered our 2024 dtm red, put our best frocks on, and rolled up to the competition.

about 8 wines deep, after the 400 attendees have stood up and sang the traditional bushing wassail, and one too many have taken their liberties on the microphone, the full results were released and we were absolutely stoked to see that we had won gold and 95 points in our category.

being in the heart of red wine country ~ we were naturally up against some seriously tough and impressive competition. so for our first year, this was a pretty big deal.

but that’s not all, it turns out our 2024 vintage is a bit of an overachiever. our sparkling red also snagged 91 points and a silver at the 2025 australian sparkling wine show.

these wins prove that you don’t need all the fuss and an intimidating price tag to make high quality and award-winning wines. they can still be fun, approachable and non-serious. better yet ~ they could be something you can literally drink in a hundred ways. want to enjoy our 95pt red as it is? perf. want to mix it into a cocktail or drink it on ice? go for it! because what’s the point of an award-winning wine if you can’t enjoy it your way?

we’ve made the base good, so what you do with it from there is your choice. go wild.
