meet the siblings stirring up the wine scene

don’t tell mum is the brainchild of holly & luke marquis. who for the rest of this blog, will be referred to as ‘we’. 

in a way, don’t tell mum may have always been inevitable. we’ve always had a strong connection to wine—it’s something that’s been a part of our lives since day one.  

growing up, we spent a lot of time around vineyards, learning the ropes of winemaking, but the one thing we always knew to be true, was that wine didn’t need to be fancy or overly serious to be good. 

we have these vivid memories growing up of our parents drinking wine out of any vessel they could get their hands on, of particular note, was these unbreakable white plastic cups. those cups went everywhere with us. they never cared what they were drinking from or the what the tasting notes were, as long as it was good juice.  

in fact, we often find there’s a big divide in the way people treat wine, based on whether they work in the production of it, or are on purchasing end. being around the industry day in and day out, you learn to appreciate the art of winemaking and grape-growing, without the fuss around it. but for so long wine has been built up to be this big, scary thing. 

that’s why we started don’t tell mum—to make wine that’s easy, fun, and approachable. no rules, just good juice. 

but of course, it’s not just the two of us. we’ve got an incredible team who help bring this vision to life. from the crew out in the vineyards and in the cellar team to our group in marketing and logistics, everyone plays an important part in making sure everything runs smoothly.  

the best part? everyone here shares the same goal: making wine that’s easy to enjoy, without taking itself too seriously.
